Dramatic Double Winged Smokey Eye This look is definitely not for the timid! Probably not something you'd wear to school lol, but it's great for a night out. And I think it looks great with an updo. You definitely don't need double eyelids for this look! Hope you enjoy (: Products used (in order in which I used them): . NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk . some random cheap black eyeliner . 120 eyeshadow palette (light silver, black, and light brown); got from ebay . L'oreal Voluminous Mascara . MAC Liquidlast Eyeliner 1. Start with a clean canvas. Prep with primer if you need it. 2. LOL! I know this looks totally scary...Take a white cream shadow (I'm using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk) and put that on the 1st half of your eye. Take a black cream shadow (I'm using random eyeliner pencil) and put that on the outer half of your eye. 3. Of course, now we gotta blend out that base! Either use your fingers, or a synthetic brush to blend. I find it kind of hard using my fingers because it's really easy to muddy the colors up if you're not being careful and you'll have to repeatedly stop to clean off your fingers. It's easier to do soft circular blending motion with a rounded blending brush. 4. Take a light silvery eyeshadow and pat it on top of the white base, at the 1st half of your eye. 5. Take a matte black eyeshadow and place that over the black base, on the 2nd half or your eye. Lol, at this point, I realized I forgot to put on my mascara, so I put some on (I usually like to put mascara on before I start). 6. Use a clean fluffy, dome shaped brush and blend!! Blend the top of your eyeshadow, so it's seamless with your skin. And don't forget to blend the two colors together on your lid as well. TIP FOR WHENEVER YOU'RE BLENDING: It's better to blend using windshield wiper motions on the 1st half of your eye, then switching to small circular motions when you're at the 2nd half of your eye. 7. This step is subtle, but it makes a huge difference! Using a clean blending brush, lightly dip it into a matte, light brown eyeshadow. Put the color right at your crease and blend to further diffuse the edge between your skin and the black eyeshadow. This will add depth to your eyes and make them seem deeper. 8. Ok, time for eyeliner! This is probably the hardest part because you'll want to make the lines for both eyes relatively even. It's impossible to make them completely perfect and identical to each other though, so don't stress out too much over it. I used liquid liner with a VERY thin brush (MAC's Liquidlast). For the top liner: Line your eyes like you would normally do, but wing out the line. You can wing it out as much as you're comfortable with. For the bottom liner: Start in the middle of your lower lashline. Bring the liner out towards the outer half of your eye. Extend the line so that it is parallel to the wing from your upper lid. Then, make sure you wipe off any clumps or excess liner on your brush, because you want to be able to make a very fine line. Start at the middle of your lower lashline again, but this time, carefully bring your liner towards the inner of corner of your eye, but stop where your lashes start to end. From there, make that diagonal line (Sorry, I don't know a better way to explain this part lol). Make sure the ends of those diagonal lines are even with both eyes, or else your eyes will look really off (one will look larger/smaller or droopier than the other if you aren't relatively accurate). 9. Using a small angled brush, put a shimmery white eyeshadow in your inner corner. Because of that little diagonal line, imagine that your inner corner has enlarged, so don't put the shimmery white eyeshadow just at your normal inner corner--you gotta put it on your whole exaggerated 'inner corner'! Blend that; you don't want your highlight to be so obvious, that's ugly. Then, take your matte black eyeshadow and go over the wings at your outer corner to soften them up a bit. 10. Finish off the look by rimming your water line with a white eyeliner. Curl your lashes, add a few more coats of mascara (false lashes are must if you have them on hand!), and you're done! leave a note |

Megan Fox Tutorial This look was inspired by Megan Fox. The photoshoot was for Cosmopolitan Magazine, and it's pretty old, but I love her makeup in it! Because this was only INSPIRED by her look, and because I am probably using different materials and techniques than her makeup artist, do not expect my version to look exactly the same. If you're wondering, I am wearing Freshlook contacts in Sterling Grey and because I get a lot of this question in my other tutorials: no, I am not wearing false lashes (: Megan Fox Inspired Eyes 1. Start off with a clean canvas. 2. I like to put my mascara on first before I start putting on my eyeshadows, so that I can clean any smears easily. If you prefer waiting till after you're done, then do this step last lol. I'm using L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I have a love-hate relationship with this mascara...I love how it's so dark and thick, but don't plan on using it unless you have a lash comb on hand! 3. Prep your eyes. Use a primer to (ex. Urban Decay Potion Primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance) to make your eyeshadows more vibrant and stay on longer without creasing. After that, apply a light brown base to your eyes. This will bring out the colors in your eyeshadow more and will provide some stickyness for your shadows to adhere to. Use a finger to blend. I'm using Clinique's Touch Tint for Eyes in 01 Sable Shimmer. 4. For this step, I used a flat shadow brush to pat on NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Mocha. Because this is a loose pigment, patting on the color will lessen the chance for fall out on to your cheeks. Apply to your whole lid and go underneath along your lower lashline as well. Use a fluffy brush to blend so that there are no harsh edges. 5. Use a dome shaped brush to apply a matte dark brown to the outer V of your lid. Blend it into the lighter shade well, but not too much so that it looks muddy. 6. The camera didn't pick up the color for this step too well...but what I did was, using a dome shaped brush, I applied a medium gray only to my crease. Blend! The gray will add a little bit a depth, but it shouldn't be so dark that it stands out dramatically. Like I said, you can barely notice it in this picture, but trust me, in person, it will make a world of difference! 7. Instead of using a liquid or gel liner to line my lid, I used a smudger brush to apply some black eyeshadow close to my lashline, as well as a little underneath my lower lash line. I wanted to keep it soft and smoky, and using a liquid/gel liner would have resulted in a harsher look. 8. Line your water line in black. A couple of extra swipes of mascara will complete this look! You want your lashes to be dramatic! 20.3.10
Mermaid Eyes This is the 120 Palette. Colors that I used are outlined in white, with numbers next to them. 1. Start with a clean eye. Yeah my eye's weird, it's got a couple folds lol. 2. Ok, like in all my other tutorials, I've already put on my eyeliner and mascara. No need for it to be perfect, I just do it 'cause it's like a guideline for me later when I go over it with liquid liner. (I'm using Maybelline Colossal mascara and Covergirl LashBlast). Underneath my brow bone, I put a concealer a shade lighter and on the lid and right underneath my eyes, I put an eye primer. 3. Blend in the concealer and primer. Primer is used to make your eyeshadows more vibrant and stay on longer. The concealer is used to highlight the brow bone and it does a good job of masking any eyebrow hairs that are growing out. 4. I used shade 1 and put it onto HALF my lid as well as a little underneath my eyes near the inner corner. Sweep it underneath your brow bone to highlight. If you put the color on your whole lid, the blues that we'll put on later will mix with the yellow and become green, and we don't want that! You can use any light shimmery yellow that you have. 5. Take shade 2 (or any light turquoise-ish color) and put it on the other half of your eye and put it underneath your eyes at the bottom outer corner. 6. Take shade 3 (or any dark shimmery cerulean blue) and put it in the other corner, making a ">" shape. Also put a little underneath the eye as well, right at the bottom outer corner. Remember to blend it in nicely with the other colors. You don't want any harsh lines! 7. I don't know if you can tell...but I've taken shade 4 (a light green color), and put it lightly right above the blue. This is so there will be hints of green, and the look won't be so in-your-face blue. 8. Ok, so I've relined my eyes using a liquid liner. Use an angled brush to set your liquid liner with a matte black eyeshadow. This will help your eyeliner stay on longer w/o smudging, and it deepens the black color as well. 9. Finished! Brown Smoky Eyes 1. Start out with a clean canvas. Be sure to prep your eyes with concealer to even out your skin tone--especially focusing on the lids and outer eye corner. Blend all the way up to your brow bone. 2. You probably can't tell lol, but I've put on a base on my lid, making sure that it doesn't pass my crease. I used Jane Color Stick in 08 Sunkisses. Use your finger to blend it out evenly. (If you don't blend it enough, it will crease!) This adds a slight stickyness that allows the eyeshadow to stick on more. 3. I like to put on my eyeliner and mascara before I start putting on my eyeshadows. This way, I can easily fix any mistakes I make without worrying about messing up my eyeshadow. As you can see, I didn't worry too much about getting it exactly perfect. It's just basically going to be a guideline later for me when reapplying my liner. If you're wondering, I used Maybelline Colossal (for volume) and Clinique High Impact Mascara (for length). I don't curl my lashes before I put on mascara, because I find that it doesn't make that much of a difference for me, but I do curl them at the end, when my mascara has dried. 4. Take a light brown eyeshadow (I used MAC Charcoal Brown) and pat it onto your lid. It should go just a little past the crease. 5. Apply a darker brown to the outer corner, creating a V shape. Using a dome shaped brush is best for this step. Then, take a flatter angled brush and apply shadow to the bottom outer corner as well. It doesn't have to look perfect just yet... 6...because we're going to blend this sucker out! Yay, doesn't that look much better? Use a windshield wiper motion and blend the dark brown in towards your crease as well to create more depth to your eyes. Don't blend too much or else the colors will look muddy! You want it to look like two colors seamlessly blended together, not like one plain brown color lol. 7. Take a shimmery bronze color (I used ELF's $1 Bronzing Powder in Warm Tan) and put it on your lid, concentrating below the crease. You don't want it going over the crease! Bring it a little down towards your inner corner as well. If this doesn't highlight the inner corner enough for you, go ahead and take a lighter shimmery color and blend it in. Use one with golden tones though, instead of a white because white will not match with the pretty browns we're working with! 8. Alrighty, as you can see I've gone over my eyeliner and fixed it up. I ran out of liquid liner so I had to use Visine+black eyeshadow for this step lol. 9. Ok! This is what you should so far. If you're happy with this look, you can go ahead and stop here. I like my eyes to look a bit more dramatic though... 10. So all I do is rim my eyes with a dark black eyeliner, curl my lashes, and apply 1-2 more coats of mascara for extra volume and to clean up any fall out on the lashes)! And we're done!
